Full-Time Quality Engineer Lead
Job Description
We are looking for a talented Quality Engineer Lead to join our team specializing in Quality for our Engine Business Segment in Jamestown, NY (On-site).
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Applies the principles of product quality planning, evaluation, and control in support of the manufacturing and installation operations of the organization.
* Facilitates continuous improvement quality activities to reduce the potential for defects and ensures continual improvement in process and product design.
* Leads audits of processes and quality systems. Leads the technical quality planning and ensures customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard.
* Leads all aspects of supplier quality management; helps develop strategy and collaborative supplier partnerships; identifies supplier innovation capabilities; contributes to supplier audit and certification process; tracks supplier performance metrics and acts to quickly resolve issues to improve supplier quality performance.
* Serves as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
* Bachelor’s Degree required (Quality, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering)
* 4+ years of experience in a quality environment
* Managed direct reports in past is preferred
* Familiarity with Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) manuals
* Has worked with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP) process.
* Project Management skills required. Ability to manage conflict and problem solve.
*Flexibility in hours to support 24/7 production needs.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
