DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Purchasing and Supply Continuity Analyst to join our newly established purchasing team which provides linkage between purchasing and manufacturing facilities and will serve as communication channel between manufacturing and the suppliers for our New Power business segment in Gladbeck, Germany.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Creates and manages purchase orders, interacts with suppliers regarding order fulfillment, payment issues, coordinates possible quality issues by applying Cummins sourcing policies, procedures and processes.
- Collects and validates relevant supplier score card data and provides delivery support to the site during supplier issues.
- Collaborates with sourcing team for supplier process improvement while maintaining high quality product and service delivery.
- Executes buying strategies in accordance with agreed material buying plans, specifically focused on improving supplier overall performance and capacity demand.
- Analyzes purchasing initiatives and processes in support of the delivery of cost effective and high-quality goods and services.
- Prepares and presents recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior purchasing leaders.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Must have a solid previous experience in operative purchasing role within manufacturing environment.
- Must have a knowledge of business German & English (verbal and written).
- Experience with MS Office and MRP / ERP systems is required.
- Excellent communication & teamwork skills, assertiveness, flexibility, independent and result-oriented way of working.
