Pay Rate to Intermediary: £302.86 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for a Project Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PROJECT MANAGER

The post holder will help deliver a comprehensive plan for the development of business cases and the implementation of the extensive capital programme across the 3 complex sites.

The post-holder will manage projects in a diverse capital programme as part of a multi-year portfolio of projects, with a value of c.

The post holder will be part a highly-skilled and motivated project delivery team (approx. 20 WTE and external project delivery specialists) across the Hospitals group, and will work as part of an integrated system of project management to ensure robust coordination of the delivery of projects, with seamless integration of new projects within the operations of existing services across the Group.

The post-holder will ensure the delivery of capital investments to a consistently high standard, which ensures high quality and compliance and delivery to programme budget and time constraints. They will need to exhibit an extremely high level of expertise in estates development to ensure delivery of the organisational goals. The implementation of the Trusts proposed STP strategy and merger is dependent upon successful delivery.

The post-holder will be a key representative for the three Trusts in engaging with wider stakeholders from other healthcare organisations and beyond, to develop and deliver joint estates-related initiatives in support of the transformation of healthcare across the Sustainability and Transformation Programme region.

The post-holder will need to co-ordinate with the clinical and non-clinical service transformation programmes, maintaining strong relationships with the Programme Directors for those service development branches, and ensuring projects are aligned with the organisation objectives, strategies and policies.

The post-holder will be responsible for managing the procurement and delivery strategy for their projects, by helping maintain a responsive and suitably developed supply chain for the planning and implementation of projects. This will require the post- holder to ensure sufficient competency and capacity to deliver the programme internally and externally, aligned with the procurement strategy and commensurate with the preferred delivery arrangements e.g. P22, PFI, Strategic Estates Partnerships or other.

The post-holder will need to maintain an good understanding of UK Government and Department of Health Strategies and policies for public sector investment and the development of healthcare estates, as well as maintain an extensive and specialist knowledge in trends and developments in healthcare construction.

The Project Manager Capital Delivery will have a high level of professional expertise and past experience in the delivery of complex programmes of estates capital development, strong management skills and excellent interpersonal, influencing and analytical skills.

The Project Manager Capital Delivery will support the formulation of strategic long term plans across the group which implements organisational objectives.

The Project Manager Capital Delivery will be expected to work with a broad network of internal and external planning and delivery officers, to support the delivery of the strategic objectives of the trusts, including working together to secure appropriate resource deployment across the trusts to support time or resource critical projects for their assigned teams.

In discharging their responsibility for these programmes the post holder will be expected to work closely with the entire Joint Executive Group, including the Chief Executive Officer and will represent the Trust to external agencies such as NHS

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PROJECT MANAGER

  • Masters level Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Specialist knowledge backed by extensive experience in the delivery of complex programmes of estates capital investment.
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. MSP, Prince 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with stakeholders both internal and external to the Group.
  • Previous experience of estates project management in the NHS or equivalent complex organisation.
