The common thread across the projects you organize will be your enthusiasm for delivering high-quality experiences by using the tools of project management: managing schedules, internal teams, budgets, and external partners to develop tremendous, impactful opportunities for our passionate audience.
The ideal candidate loves turning good ideas into great experiences by leading every step of the project management process. The most successful candidates will bring curiosity and enthusiasm about new ways of connecting and educating young people in our new virtual-first world. A passion for working on a variety of social and environmental topics is a must.

You may be a good fit if you are:
- Organized and detail-oriented: You possess a critical, detailed eye that you bring to event production and project planning. Your colleagues know they can rely on you to approach your work systematically; you use tools to do your work in consistent ways so that you can be ready to build and scale when the time comes. Everything you produce is polished—meaning accurate (right content, no misspellings, grammatical errors, etc.) and precise (reflects nuances, captures subtleties, etc.) and “fits” the situation (should have our “look and feel” generally but can be casual when situation calls for it).
- Virtual first: Learning about all things systems, platforms, and tech tools is your jam. You’re comfortable leading a cross-disciplinary team and asking questions to assess how to use tech tools to support your programming. For instance, you might get curious about which marketing campaigns are drawing people to one of your projects, so you’ll dig into the reports in Salesforce or Pardot to learn more so that you and the marketing lead can adjust your campaigns for greater success.
- Committed to creating engaging user experiences: You are constantly thinking of ways to improve the user experience, whether online or in-person. Whether it’s about lowering barriers to entry for underrepresented groups, or creating an engagement funnel that enables people to deep their participation in our work, you are always looking for ways to better engage our members
- Curious learner: You independently explore things that interest you, so you enter this role knowing your favorite platforms and digital programming tools. You’re a fast learner who is always exploring what’s new so of course you’re excited by working in the fast-changing, ambiguous space of virtual programming. Your curiosity also motivates you to stay current on the social impact topics that you care about most.
- Strategic mindset: You believe that convening people well can change the world. You want to create more engaging, inclusive, and meaningful convenings now and in future hybrid events. You bring an intersectional perspective to how convenings can be part of big-picture strategies to achieve an organization’s mission, deepen engagement, and achieve other goals.
