At our Mississauga site in Canada, Cummins is developing innovative Fuel Cell and Electrolyzer technologies that can generate hydrogen for various applications with zero emissions – contributing to a safe and healthy environment for future generations.
We are looking for a talented Project Lead, Electrical and Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in New Power Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Supports major electrical and power systems for a facility.
Manages power and related infrastructure for a facility.
Discusses facility systems issues, such as air temperature concerns, with facility leadership; trouble shoots, and investigates most complex power system issues to determine root causes.
Develops plans and implements solutions that are efficient and cost effective.
Analyzes and simulates facility electronic systems to ensure continuous and appropriate levels of power, heat, ventilation, and air conditioning in the facility.
Develops code and improves code to design, verify and validate controls for facility systems; services and maintains controls hardware and software.
Leads power disruption planning; works with utilities to establish and maintain power requirements for the facility; oversees installation, ongoing testing, and maintenance of back-up power sources.
Maintains relationships with internal customers and utility providers; manages skilled tradesmen and related contracts.
Works with facility leadership to plan for system upgrade; plans for and manages system obsolescence.
May manage the controls team budget.
May coach and mentor less experienced Facilities Controls Engineers.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering
7 Plus years of experience in a similar role leading projects in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Experience with Instrumentation and controls, high voltage distribution experience, troubleshooting Logic PLC’s, Arc Flash experience, Drive systems and Robotics is required
Prior experience of resolving technical issues by providing rapid response to manufacturing engineers and operations teams.
Strong Communication and interpersonal skills required to function effectively with engineering and production teams.
Experience with single line drawings and electrical distributions systems. Medium, High and low voltage.
