This is an exciting opportunity in Mississauga, Ontario for a Project Engineer – Manufacturing.

 

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

* Work with Design Engineers to understand manufacturing requirements for vehicle power systems and energy storage stations, and provide input to improve ease-of-assembly and disassembly for servicing

* Communicate design requirements to suppliers and fabricators, including adherence to HYGs specifications and international standards (knowledge of international standards is an asset)

* Fulfill HYG orders, including managing the delivery schedule, prioritization, and inspection of suppliers’ systems, processes, materials, work in process, and final products before shipping

* Control and manage ECR process during prototype and production builds on behalf of the engineering function

* Create inspection and audit records/reports in accordance to ISO-9001

* Create Assembly Instructions for HYGs Production (Mechanical and Electrical)

* Work with the Engineering & Quality departments to create new internal standards and SOW (Standard Operating Procedures)

* Participate in technical customer audit and interpret customer specific requirements and standards

* Lead Continuous Improvement projects to improve plant-wide efficiencies, reduce costs and reduce waste

* Specify new manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tooling, and workflows

* Create test methods for validating new products.

Industrial Engineering Knowledge – Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

 

Manufacturing Knowledge – Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function’s needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

 

Optimizes work processes – Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

 

 

Experience

* Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.

* Prior experience in automotive industry highly preferred.

 

 

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

 

Bachelor of Science (or equivalent degree) in Engineering required.

 

Compensation and Benefits
