Job Summary
The Pennsylvania Conference for Women is seeking a Program Director to own the development and implementation of programming for its events. The Program Director will ensure that the most relevant topics are addressed, and that the Conference supports the personal and professional goals of its audience. The Program Director will have a passion for gender equity and an extensive knowledge of the virtual, hybrid, and in-person event/conference space. As part of a remote team, the Program Director will work independently and collaborate effectively to ensure all programming is executed to the highest standards and on time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead all event programming, including identifying the most timely topics and speakers for keynote sessions, panels, workshops, learning bursts, and sponsor events.
- Strategize and manage all talent booking, including building relationships with speakers and agents. Create, negotiate and oversee contracts, speaker honorariums, and expense budget.
- Lead content development such as crafting session titles and descriptions, drafting interview questions, developing scripts, and editing recorded sessions.
- To drive attendee engagement and learning, research and develop virtual and in-person program structure, session formats, and networking.
- Ensure smooth event execution, including crisis planning, tech checks, prepping speakers, and troubleshooting on-site.
- In collaboration with the program team, establish programming goals and create procedures to maximize Conference resources.
- Work with the marketing & communications team to promote the Conferences for Women year-round.
- Advance the objectives of the event sponsors’ through strong client relationships and thoughtful content creation.
- Partner with the program team to ensure the success of all the Conference’s events throughout the year.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience creating powerful programming for virtual and in-person events, conferences, and/or professional development.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Experience building relationships and managing multiple stakeholders’ expectations.
- Ability to work independently according to established standards, timelines, and budget.
- Clear communication, thinking, writing, and speaking skills.
- A nimble, flexible, strategic, and solutions-oriented mindset.
- Awareness of thought leaders, cultural figures, and current events that are top of mind for Pennsylvania women.
