Part-Time Program Assistant/Intern
Job Description
The Program Assistant/Intern will provide essential administrative and logistical support across the full range of BioQUEST projects and activities, helping to ensure efficient and smooth day-to-day operation. Work is part-time, nonexempt, and remote with synchronous and asynchronous components, including scheduled and ad-hoc meetings via Zoom. Generally, this position is 5-10 hours per week with more hours needed immediately leading up to and during the BIOME Summer Workshop.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Deputy Director, the Project Assistant/Intern contributes to various projects in the STEM education reform space. Position responsibilities for the Project Assistant/Intern role include:
- Organize and schedule virtual and in-person meetings and workshops
- Plan meetings and take detailed minutes
- Write and distribute email, letters, and forms
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
- Maintain a filing system for electronic storage of documents, records, and contact lists
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent required; current college students are especially encouraged to apply
- Use of a modern computer and stable high speed internet connection required
- Self-motivated, independent, proactive, flexible, and adaptable, with attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple projects
- Experience with project management and/or online communities is a plus
- Experience with online communication and productivity tools including Google Suite, Zoom, Asana, and Slack is a plus
- Academic training or interest in STEM fields, STEM education, or a related field is a plus

Compensation
The hourly rate is commensurate with experience, with a minimum of $18/hour.
