The Automation Test and Tools at TrueMotion ensures that the engineering organization has the tools and processes necessary to produce healthy stable code that’s ready to ship to production and power mobile telematics for millions of drivers throughout the world. You will be responsible for building tools which help to make the entire Engineering team at TrueMotion more efficient and productive at all points in the Software Development Lifecycle. This role is critical in helping TrueMotion delivery products quickly, safely, and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- As a Principal Productivity Engineer, you will help deliver on TrueMotion’s mission of making driving safer and more affordable by building and contributing to a wide array of developer tooling such as compilers, build systems, test automation infrastructure, and configuration automation and validation.
- Play a major role in championing the importance of quality and efficiency across all teams of the Engineering organization
- Lead/contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity
- Use complete independent judgement and discretion to work with the QA and Engineering teams to build advanced automated build, test, and release infrastructure
- Help drive the adoption of developer tools and test infrastructure
- Help drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability
- Complete any additional tasks as they arise
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in roles such as DevOps, SRE, SDET
- Experience with programming languages (Python, Java, Groovy, Go, etc.)
- Experience with AWS (especially CloudFormation)
- Experience in creating playbooks and roles for Ansible and deploying applications to AWS cloud using Ansible.
- Deep knowledge with Continuous Integration methods and tools (Git, Jenkins, etc)
- Detail-oriented
- You thrive on a high level of autonomy and responsibility
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate technical issues
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to dig deep into problems and look further to identify and communicate potential solutions
