Temporary Power Scholars Outreach Coordinator
Job Description
Starting Wage: $18.75+ per hour, depending on qualifications
Hours: 40 hours per week for 5 weeks of programming
Location: Clover Park School District

The success of Power Scholars relies on the teamwork of youth development professionals alongside a certified teacher. As the Outreach Coordinator, you will be the liaison between the teachers, program director, enrichment coaches, and parents. You will be responsible for building a strong summer program team that works well together, overseeing the educational quality of the program and implementing the program model to create the best learning environment for the scholars.
In this role, you will manage and evaluate staff to ensure proper staffing ratios, instruction, and the success of the program. You will implement and maintain a positive behavior-management system that is clear and aligns with the school, district, and state requirements. You will ensure that the goals of the program are achieved for each scholar.
As a part time employee, you will receive Washington State Paid Family and Medical Leave, paid sick leave and an individual membership to the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties.

- You have are at least 21 years old.
- You have at least 1 year of management experience, preferably in a child care/educational field.
- You have experience working in urban communities and managing an OST program or other community-based youth program.
- You have strong leadership skills with experience in managing different levels of staff.
- You are able to build effective working relationships with parents, administrators, staff and scholars.
- You have a positive attitude, patience and previous experience with diverse populations.
- You have drive to improve the minds and lives of scholars within the community.
- You are committed to the goals of the program and approach.
