Full-Time Pillar 3 Reporting Analyst

Job Description

Job Purpose:

In respect of the Pillar 3 disclosure reports, this role will be responsible for production of regular disclosure process working with the Finance Controllers, Risk, HR  and various other functions across EMEA. Whilst the production is the responsibility of this role, the overall oversight of the individual Pillar 3 disclosures will remain the responsibility of the relevant Finance Controller in each location.

In addition to the Pillar 3 responsibilities, the role will also entail involvement in the EMEA Finance risk and governance activities such as the Risk Terms of Reference, Risk & Control Self-Assessment documents etc.

Responsibilities:

The Analyst will be responsible for the production of the Pillar 3 disclosure reports across EMEA; there are currently 7 Pillar 3 disclosure reports that apply in 5 jurisdictions (UK, Belgium, Germany, Ireland and Saudi Arabia). These are mandatory and business critical public disclosures that are required to be approved by the legal entity Board for a consolidated group and for those parts of the BNY Mellon group covered by the Basel framework.

Main Pillar 3 responsibilities include:

  • Maintain the EMEA-wide Pillar 3 templates ensuring they are up-to-date; work with the various business functions to ensure changes in the business structure, process and regulations are accommodated in the templates
  • Production of EMEA-wide Pillar 3 quantitative data tables ensuring appropriate accuracy and validation
  • Liaise with the US Regulatory reporting team to ensure the EMEA Pillar 3 reports are consistent with corporate standards
  • Prepare instructions and timetables that will apply to the report “contributor” teams to achieve hand-over to the Finance function on a timely basis
  • Manage the timetable deliverables to ensure all qualitative and quantitative data is provided to time and quality
  • Gather attestations of the individual template submissions from business heads
  • Produce the Pillar 3 disclosure reports ensuring the various components are assembled and joined together in a cohesive manner. Perform checks and controls on completeness of templates and attestations
  • Work with the Finance Controller teams to ensure the Pillar 3 disclosure reports meets the quality standards and provide support through the governance process

 

The majority of Pillar 3 disclosures are currently on an annual basis and in the intervening periods between the Pillar 3 production report planning and preparation of the disclosures comprising the report, the role will involve supporting Finance governance activities on behalf of the EMEA Controllers Group, which may involve some of the following:

  • Participating in process improvement reviews with the team as a part of ongoing exception management and continuous improvement activities, and work with the team lead to develop clearly defined, achievable team and individual goals
  • Support Finance Risk initiatives as required
  • Support the wider regulatory reporting team in production of periodic regulatory reports

 

Stakeholders:

The Analyst will be required to work closely with the following stakeholder teams:

  • Finance Controllers
  • Various Risk functions
  • Human Resources
  • Business units
  • Compliance team
  • US regulatory teams

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Financial, Risk or Accounting background (qualified preferred)
  • Experience of drafting and reviewing financial/risk reports (preferably within the financial services sector) with a high degree of technical content and a proficiency in written and communications skills
  • A broad understanding of EMEA’s range of business activities
  • Well-structured and organised with project management skills and the ability to lead tasks and work effectively in a multi-located team environment
  • Experienced in building multi-national relationships at a senior level and managing them over time
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • MS Office proficient
