Full-Time Payroll Accountant – Redmond, WA
Job Description
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing biweekly multi-state payroll and assisting in maintaining an integrated and centralized multi-state payroll system and providing effective control and reporting of the company’s payroll data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews, approves, and posts employee timesheets weekly. Directly follows up and resolved issues with employees, supervisors and managers regarding discrepancies in time sheets.
- Runs reports to ensure time off taken has not exceeded employee balances.
- Coordinates with Human Resources to compile payroll data such as employee changes, new hires and payroll deductions.
- Validates payroll files/reports through reconciliation and review to ensure accuracy.
- Handles general inquiries regarding payroll and deductions.
- Calculates net salaries, deductions, withholdings, bonus payments and vacation payouts. Verifies state and federal leave status and record payments appropriately.
- Imports timesheet information into payroll system and verifies system totals.
- Completes bi-weekly/monthly payroll report requirements.
- Assists with general employee questions regarding payroll and deductions.
- Reconciles payroll-related general ledger accounts.
- Assists with annual review and FAR audit payroll compliance.
- Maintains current and ongoing knowledge of industry trends and uses that knowledge to determine most effective ways of meeting business needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a large ERP environment.
- Experience in Paylocity payroll system, within the Architecture & Engineering industry preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications including Outlook and Excel. Advanced proficiency preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of customer service; interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical and attention to detail abilities.
- Team player who meets commitments and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential information, keep detailed records and payroll operations data.
- Excellent professional integrity and accountability skills with the ability to quickly and effectively build trust and credibility, address difficult issues, and effectively resolve issues.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting and regular walking, bending, standing and reaching.
- Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as needed.
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Redmond WA, is $60,300 – $88,500. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
