Job Description:
The Office Specialist, Cashier position is directly accountable to the Business Office Manager for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.
- Collect payments and issue receipts of all funds received by the college. This function includes the collection of fees during registration and drop/add periods, as well as daily cash receipts processing.
- Receipt payments received by mail in a timely manner.
- Reconcile cash batch at end of workday and prepare bank deposit documents.
- Provide assistance to Accounts Receivable in verifying daily reports, updating receivable/obligation cards and billing.
- Respond to questions and inquiries from individuals at the Business Office counter and over the telephone.
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Cashier Supervisor or Business Office Manager.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of one to three years relevant work experience required.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Previous work experience with automated accounting systems including accounts receivable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- General knowledge of office procedures.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
