Georgetown Community Development Authority (GCDA) is a community-based organization bringing together working artists, industry, and community stakeholders in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle.

GCDA will develop affordable workforce housing for artisans and employees of local businesses while creating a village center that attracts and accelerates value-add businesses and services, increases job opportunities, and creates long-term community wealth through thoughtful real estate acquisition and development, community engagement and ownership, small business development, and community-building programming.

OPPORTUNITY

GCDA is seeking an Office Manager to provide administrative services that enhance the operations of the organization, support the Executive Director and Board of Directors, and build relationships with community partners. Reports to the Executive Director.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

  1. Full Charge Bookkeeping:
    • Familiarity with Quickbooks required.
    • Use of AppFolio property management software – prior experience with AppFolio is desired but not essential because training will be provided.
    • Oversee annual audit and tax requirements for organization.
    • Responsible for maintaining necessary licenses and entity registration and reporting.
    • Responsible for payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, monthly reconciliation, internal reporting; supported by outside CPA firm.
  2. Other Administrative Operations:
    • Support Executive Director in managing organization’s HR activities, including vendor relationships for benefits, insurance, and contracts, and managing incident response procedures.
    • Maintain office tools and information technology systems for the organization. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and communication management systems such as Mailchimp preferred.
  3. Support and coordinate with Property Manager, Facilities Manager, Construction Superintendent and other staff and service providers as needed:
    • Ensure tenant requests have been completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
    • Assist with procurement of supplies and labor as needed; monitor inventory sufficient to meet service delivery levels
  4. Support Executive Director with management of the organization including:
    • Loan reporting
    • Grant research and reporting
    • Board communications and meetings
  5. Organize events and community engagement activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The Office Manager will be thoroughly committed to the GCDA’s mission and strategic district plan. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

  • Ability to effectively communicate the organization’s mission to donors, volunteers, and the broader arts and Georgetown community.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff and ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Solid bookkeeping experience including payroll and monthly close.
  • Event coordination and/or community organizing experience preferred.
  • Solid organizational abilities, including outcomes-based program support, calendar and task management, and data-driven program evaluation.
  • Strong written, oral communication, and public speaking skills.
  • College degree and nonprofit office management experience preferred.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy, passion, idealism, integrity, and a self-directed and positive attitude.

DESIRED ADDITIONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Experience using an intersectional racial equity lens in work settings; experience with decision-making processes that engage diverse communities desired.
  • Experience building mutually beneficial partnerships with community agencies and/or community members desired.
  • Demonstrated experience developing contracts containing an actionable scope of work that manages to positive outcomes desired.
