Clark College is currently accepting applications for full-time, special programs Nursing Instructor. The Nursing Student Success and Retention Instructor will proactively support student success using coaching skills, strength based approaches and evidence based strategies. Department and college service work is expected with the position (as assigned by the division or college) to support the institutional mission and goals, foremost being student success and retention. This position will work collaboratively with nursing program instructors, staff and administrators to support the success and retention of nursing students. Additionally, this position will be the department contact and coordinator for concurrent enrollment program and mentorship partnerships. This position will also have a role in data compilation, tracking and analysis for evaluations & outcomes action planning and reporting as it relates to college, accreditation and regulatory requirements. Teaching responsibilities include one or more courses in our Associate Degree Nursing Program. This position begins September 10, 2021.

General Faculty Responsibilities

  • Instruct all classes as an expert in the discipline using active learning approaches that both engage and facilitate student learning.

Minimum Qualifications and Competencies

  • Graduate degree in Nursing OR Bachelor’s degree in Nursing AND currently enrolled in a graduate in Nursing program OR Master’s degree in a health or education related field.
  • Three years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Washington and Oregon RN license by time of hire.
  • Certified Co-Active Professional Coach or certified coach via a program accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF) or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.

 

Salary Statement

Current starting nursing faculty salary is $113,127.  Total minimum starting salary: $67,777 (base salary) + $21,350 (31.5% nursing salary stipend) and $24,000 (salary supplement).  Faculty may be eligible to advance every other year; current top step salary for nursing faculty is $142,153 ($89,850 (base salary) + $28,303 (31.5% nursing salary stipend) and $24,000 (salary supplement).  Stipend and supplement are contingent on continued funding. Hiring salary is negotiable within salary range. Salary is for a 173-day contract; additional compensation is available through summer and moonlight teaching, and doctoral and vocational stipends.
