To support our mission, we are seeking a National Field Educator Manager to join our Education and Engagement team. You will report to the Director of Education to deliver National Wildlife Federation’s signature education programs, Eco-Schools USA and Schoolyard Habitats®, in communities across the U.S. This is a remote position and candidates may be able to work from any of NWF’s regional offices across the country.
You will also support a collaborative process to build out an enhanced climate education framework (science, social-emotional and behavioral learning) with a strong focus on equity and justice within existing and new NWF education programs.
In this position you will:
- Implement grant-related programming and activities working with schools, teachers and corporate volunteers while remaining flexible to meet each specific site’s needs;
- Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, partners, and funders;
- Develop and provide professional development opportunities for educators in association with specific grant programs and expanding climate education trainings;
- Follow and improve upon existing program content, models, procedures and grants particularly in relation to climate change and climate justice;
- Conduct school site visits as needed and communicate with schools to conduct evaluation measures including surveys, site assessments, photographs, and interviews;
- Maintain records of school projects, media engagement, and other key performance indicators;
- Work with Communication Team to develop stories and social media associated with grant programming;
- Collaboratively plan with project managers to meet key milestones and deadlines;
- Provide guidance on new grants and multi-year grant proposals;
- Support internal training for staff that aligns programming with the latest science and climate education programming standards;
- Collaborate with NWF’s Equity and Justice Education Manager to support department-wide initiatives.
Qualities we’re looking for include:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, conservation, education, or a related field
- 5 years’ experience in K-12 formal education, project coordination, and/or management
- Background and experience in Climate Education including a strong science background, social-behavioral learning and youth voice and engagement.
- Ability to perform responsibilities utilizing an equity and justice lens
- Demonstrated proficiency in the application of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice principals
- Experience working with K-12 teachers and students
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance the demands of multiple programs
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a contributing team member
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including storytelling, social media and the ability to adapt voice to audience. Experience with photography and videography a plus.

Travel Requirements:
Monthly overnight travel in U.S. is required.

The salary for this position is $60,000 annually.
