Job Description

WHO WE ARE

The Humane League (THL) is a global nonprofit ending the abuse of animals raised for food. THL fosters a high-energy culture of teamwork and mission-driven problem solving, and we have earned recognition as Top Charity from Animal Charity Evaluators for all of their rating periods. Over the past few years, we’ve grown to a staff of 90+ talented individuals dispersed across the country and around the world.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY

The National Director of Organizing will develop and implement a national strategy to build power by growing and mobilizing the base of volunteers in the United States working toward THL’s mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food. The National Director of Organizing is a new, mission-critical role, acting as the lead strategist for community organizing and engagement on THL’s US leadership team. Your skills in building trusting relationships, developing savvy strategies for mobilizing people and advancing grassroots campaign goals, training and mentoring field leaders, and translating complicated data and technology into campaign-ready tools will be critical to your success. We want you because you are dedicated to ending the abuse of animals raised for food and are ready to mobilize people to pass animal welfare legislation in key states across the country and hold corporations accountable—influencing institutions to create and implement animal welfare policies that abolish the worst forms of abuse and reduce the suffering of billions of animals. This position reports to the Senior Vice-President, Programs and Development.

As part of our entirely distributed team, you will work remotely and may be based anywhere in the contiguous United States with broadband internet and access to a major airport. You’ll love the flexibility and opportunity to do national work from your own community.

This is a full-time remote position. This position requires occasional domestic travel, this is equivalent to approximately 3-6 trips per year. We are only able to consider applicants who reside in the United States and possess United States work authorization.
