$76,648.00 – $98,259.20 Annually
NOTE: This position is a project appointment of limited duration. it is anticipated to be filled until December 31, 2022, at which time it will be evaluated for ongoing funding.
The City of Tacoma Fire Department has an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Unit Registered Nurse to join their team.
With minimal direction of a medical director, a Mobile Registered Nurse works in a non-emergency capacity as part of a medical operation team aimed at reducing overuse of 911-EMS, opioid use, illicit drug use, behavioral health and mental health crises, and preventing further exacerbation of illnesses. The Mobile R.N. will provide in-person comprehensive nursing assessments on the scene of 911 events, coordinate with the base station physician on medication dosing for substance use, behavioral health and/or mental health symptoms. Duties will include developing plans of care, coordinating care with internal and external multi-disciplinary team, and facilitating safe care transitions to community partners. The Mobile R.N. is responsible for all nursing care based on established clinical policies and will serve as part of the TFD CARES team within the Tacoma Fire Department.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing by the National League of Nursing or equivalent
- Active Washington State Registered Nursing License, and
- Four (4) years’ experience as a registered nurse.
Preferred candidates will have experience working with populations with substance use, mental health, and/or behavioral health disorders.
Licensing, Certifications, and Other Legal Requirements:
- Valid WA State Driver License at time of appointment with maintenance thereafter
- Incumbents must pass all applicable pre-employment background checks
- Incumbents must pass a pre-employment drug screen
