Job Description
Purpose of the Role
The Membership Programs Intern supports the planning and implementation of Global Ties U.S. professional development programming designed for our members. This includes webinars, online courses, Network-wide calls, our signature Network DC program, annual National Meeting, and Diplomacy Begins Here Regional Summits.
This internship is geared toward candidates seeking a career in instructional design or educational program management, specifically within the nonprofit or international exchanges field. The ideal candidate should possess relevant experience, be meticulous in their attention to detail, and be comfortable using (or learning to use) various learning management systems (LMS), virtual meeting platforms, databases, and website content management systems (e.g. WordPress).

Core Responsibilities
- Assisting with online training content creation
- Writing and editing digital marketing and program materials
- Maintaining membership contact information
- Customer service to members
Qualifications
- Interest in customer service and direct membership support
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or training is preferred
- Interest in online course development assistance (e.g. test courses, line edit scripts, develop quizzes/activities)
- Strong writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting software (e.g. Zoom Webinars)
- Experience in other platforms such as Articulate 360, Bridge LMS, Salesforce, and WordPress are a plus
- Background and interest in public diplomacy, nonprofit management, and leadership, or international education and exchange preferred
