Job Title:                            Member Experience Manager
Location:                            Hybrid: Reading & home-based
Contract:                           Permanent, Full time
Working Hours:               35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary:                                £40,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) is the world-leading professional association for business continuity and resilience professionals with more than 9,000 members in over 100 countries.

We are looking to recruit a Member Experience Manager to be the primary contact point with the members of the BCI and the owner of the “member experience”, acting as the voice of the member within the Central Office team. The Member Experience Manager will create, develop and manage products and services aimed at our membership and to deliver member satisfaction across all dimensions of their relationship with the BCI. The role is also responsible for supporting BCI special Interest Groups and BCI Chapters throughout the world.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • To develop and maintain effective member-focused services to support our members in their professional and personal development, including inter alia CPD and mentoring provision, member interest groups, member events and to manage relationships with external services providers who deliver the platforms upon which BCI member services are built.
  • To advise the Chief Membership Officer on member acquisition and retention strategies and to manage the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of these through a close working relationship with all BCI teams and member groups.
  • To be the primary global point of contact for member groups and to provide assistance, guidance and support to them in the running of their affairs. To act as an interface between member groups and BCI Central Office.

 


Skills

  • At least 3 years experience of membership management and relations in at least one other professional body with a global membership base.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically depending on the immediate requirements.
  • Ability to produce clear and informative business and project plans and copy, and to present and explain them to stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder networks and build sustaining relationships calling for solid diplomacy skills
  • A solid understanding of CRM systems.
  • Experience in developing and managing a CPD process within a professional body.
  • Experience in developing and managing mentorship programmes within a professional body.

This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week. This role is predominantly homebased with attendance at the office in Reading at least twice a month.
