Full-Time Medical Lead

Job Description

To strengthen our Neurology PVU team based in Smyrna, Georgia, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Medical Lead

 

The Medical Lead is accountable for the planning and implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy for the assigned therapeutic area and serves as a key member of the Local Mission team.The solutions and medical initiatives are derived from the Local PVBP and aligned with the regional and global brand plans. The Medical Lead drives the execution of medical initiatives and tactics to address local gaps in evidence, medical education and quality of care initiatives. Activities and responsibilities related to this role are in collaboration and alignment with the Medical Strategy lead, the cross functional solutions team, and with the customer facing teams.

  • Drive the execution and delivery of tactical initiatives of the Medical Affairs Plans in alignment with the overall strategic objectives of the cross functional asset team (ecosystem), global and regional teams’ guidance.
  • Seek and collect insights on local care management landscape for the assigned therapeutic area and consults with external experts ( eg: advisory board, consolidated field medical insights, competitive intelligence and industry reports and guidelines).
  • Engage and partner with internal and external experts and stakeholders to co-create innovative solutions that address gaps in the local care management landscape that will enhance standards of care for patients.
  • Ensure execution excellence by applying project management principles to complete defined milestones and metrics: Plan, monitor and manage solutions and projects. Measure impact and values of the solution and communicate to local ecosystem cross functional teams.
  • Understand the patient journey, moments of meaning and local care management practices for patients to help inform and tailor solutions according to patient value drivers.

 

You will contribute by:

  • Acting as the subject matter expert, project manager and lead for key Regional implementation and local medical initiatives including local evidence generation, medical education and quality of care initiatives for the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Driving execution of regional and global initiatives adapted to local context and in alignment with ecosystem leads, medical operation and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Developing local medical solutions and initiatives to address identified gaps in evidence generation, medical education and quality of care, in line with the ecosystem team and local patient value drives for the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Localizing centrally developed global and regional solutions for the Area-Country in line with local ecosystems insights, requirements and patient value drivers.
  • Engaging and maintaining strong relationships with National/International Thought Leaders.

 

Interested?  For this position, you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD, Pharmd or MD degree
  • 2+ years of medical affairs experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a cross-business/cross-functional team and collaborating and solution building

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid peer relationships with and exposure to external scientific/ clinical experts, professional; demonstrated ability to proactively engage internal and external leaders and serve as a medical expert
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex subjects with clarity, ease and executive presence (good story telling skills); ability to build rapport with diverse internal and external audiences
  • Neurology experience preferred.  Experience in Epilepsy
