DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

If you are driven and motivated to become part of a dynamic team, our Edmonton Upfit Centre (ERC) has openings for two Manufacturing Generalists to join our team specializing in service for our Sales and Service business in Edmonton, Canada.  Reporting to the Upfit Supervisor, you will be responsible for participating in the engine and module rebuild process providing safe, productive and high-quality work.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

* Participating in Cummins Safety Programs

* Disassemble engines, modules, and related components.

* Steam cleaning equipment

* Clean various used engine/module parts to Cummins specifications

* Install engines into power modules

* Clean tools, bench area, and powered industrial vehicles

* Paint engines, modules and related components

* Perform maintenance services and inspection on shop equipment

* Maintaining shop space

* Support Upfit Centre in various other tasks as required such as: sand blasting, glass beading, parts washing, etc.

 

Demonstrates a high level of competency in core work skills.

Support continuous improvement activities to improve quality, safety, process and employee development.

Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and other activities watching over company resources.

Applies Cummins Operating System (COS) practices and Operations Excellence (OE) methodology throughout the plant.

Remains flexible and performs other miscellaneous duties, as required, to meet manufacturing goals.

Works with peers and all levels of the organization to maintain process performance.

Teamwork

Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams.

Completes training and personal development in line with business requirements.

Participates actively in the identification of ways in which to improve quality, safety, process, material flow, and employee development.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* Minimum 2 years of trades related experience

* Comfortable in a Quality Management System Certified Shop following established disassembly, rebuild and reassembly procedures

* Good organization, detail oriented with the ability to follow standardized work instructions and processes

* Must be confident to operate forklifts and cranes. Company will provide training when required

* Should be able to make consciousness decisions while moving and loading heavy loads

* Must be able to work unsupervised and be a strong team player

* Able to work well under pressure in a production environment

* Excellent customer service skills and understanding of customer expectations

* Commitment to promoting and supporting a safe workplace

* This position will work Monday to Friday on either the day or afternoon shift. Please note that any future shift changes that may occur are made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the standing Collective Agreement.
