Full-Time MEA Development Lead

Job Description

We are looking for a talented MEA Development Lead to join our Fuel Cell R&D team specializing in hydrogen fuel cell power systems technology for our #NewPowerBusiness Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.

Description

The successful candidate will work within the fuel cell R&D department, design the advanced MEA to accomplish technical objectives.

Communicate with MEA suppliers, design and down select its subcomponents.

Work proactively with stack designers to ensure smooth and proper interface and integration of MEA within the stack.

Analyze, interpret and summarize testing data.

Characterize MEAs to determine failure modes and propose mitigation strategies.

Prepare and release engineering documentation (e.g., analysis reports, MEA drawings, specifications, etc).

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Maters or PhD in a relevant science or engineering discipline.

5 plus years of experince in PEM Fuel Cells or Electrolyser space

In-depth knowledge of PEM MEA and its subcomponents as well as the effects to the performance and durability.

Knowledge and experience of catalyst and ionomer, CCM and MEA preparation, fuel cell testing, an asset.

Extensive experience of electrochemical diagnostic methods (EIS, CV, LSV etc.).

Strong material characterization skills (SEM, TEM, XRD, XRF, FTIR, etc).

Global industrial/organizational experience in the PEM fuel cell an asset.

Strong hands-on lab skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with structured problem solving methods.
