Position Purpose

Support the Company’s creative branding, marketing communications team to enhance Unitil’s corporate brand and reputation and drive engagement among energy efficiency and gas growth programs. The individual will collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote and execute on statewide marketing initiatives in line with company strategies. The position will champion a cross-functional, customer-centric, and strategic approach to marketing to advance the Company’s mission, vision, purpose, and brand, enhance the Company’s reputation, and increase customer/stakeholder education and engagement.  This position will maintain internal asset and project management software to aid in planning, tracking and reporting on marketing efforts and will also help manage external vendor relations. This position will also support Graphic Design projects as needed.

Principal Accountabilities

60%Marketing

  • Oversee and participate in statewide marketing programs including NHSaves and Mass Save
    1. Attend weekly meetings and collaborate with internal working groups to align state marketing efforts with Unitil programs and budget
    2. Monitor and report on effectiveness and performance of marketing strategies
  • Support Unitil’s Energy Efficiency, Electric Vehicle and Gas Growth marketing communications and content strategy in alignment with Unitil’s strategic plan
    1. Assist in planning and development of scheduled and ad-hoc marketing campaigns
  • Communicate with external vendors who provide market research, media purchasing, creative development, and strategy planning services
    1. Oversee timely vendor invoice processing
    2. Assist with budget tracking
  • Support Graphic Design projects as needed.
35%Team Operations

  • Maintain digital asset management software as an archive for Company photography and purchased media assets
  • Oversee project management software to organize and track multiple marketing campaigns
  • Assist with intake and production of marketing and creative branding projects
  • Participate in regular department planning meetings and team development
5%Crisis communications

  • Provide CIO Team support as needed
    1. Participate in storm role duty as needed

Qualifications

  • A BS/BA in Digital Marketing, Communications or a related field; MBA/MA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 yrs. corporate marketing/communications experience.
  • Graphic Design skills strongly desired but not required, with competency in Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Robust written and oral communication skills, specifically working with non-technical individuals to effectively present technical information.
  •  Strong analytical, project management, and time management skills.
  • Must demonstrate ethical and honest work habits, initiative, commitment and be able to respond well under stress.
