Full-Time Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support continuous improvement projects for the Engine and Assembly process – with a focus on safety, quality, cost and delivery. This role is based at our engine manufacturing plant in Darlington, UK.

 

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways;

 

* Support the planning, design and implementation of production processes in the plant with a focus on improving efficiency, cost and quality within the assigned budget.

* Own specific Manufacturing Change Request projects, ensuring safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met. Complete the associated corrective actions requests.

* Lead and develop Process FMEA’s to ensure a robust assembly process, minimizing assembly defects.

* Coach and lead Graduate Engineers and Technicians – including assigning tasks, shift patterns, identifying professional development opportunities.

* Support Industrial Engineering activities in line balancing, workstation takt time to ensure a capable process for daily and hourly build rates.

* Provide Manufacturing skills and technical solutions for all areas of the Engine Assembly Processes and look to expand on knowledge and skill sets within the role.

 

To be a success in this role you will need;

 

* An engineering degree is required.

* Previous experience within a fast paced and target driven manufacturing environment is essential.

* Demonstrable experience managing multiple continuous improvement projects is required.

* Previous experience working on Six Sigma projects would be an advantage, as well as any lean manufacturing methodologies such as Kaizan, 5S and/ or Lean Manufacturing.

* Must be willing to cover shifts as and when required;

 

* 0600 – 1400

* 1400 – 2200

* 2200 – 0600

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

* Salary between £36,000 and £47,000 depending on experience.

* Defined contribution pension scheme (up to 9%)
