Full-Time Manager, Infrastructure Support
Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our media department as a Manager, Infrastructure Support. In this role you will provide essential pro-active and reactive technical support for critical broadcast systems and other media infrastructure within the LFC Media Department.
What will you be doing?
- Providing extensive technical support across all LFCTV Broadcast, Transmission and Production systems
- Installation, Deployment and Maintenance of LFC Media Postproduction Systems
- Administration, Deployment and Maintenance of LFC Media Storage Pools and Video Archives
- Support, Configuration and Deployment of all LFC Anfield Broadcast Infrastructure
- Preparation and Deployment of Portable Production Systems
- Researching and evaluating new products for recommendation and purchase in line with future technology plans and budgets.
- Liaison with External Vendors for Product and System Support
- Providing Broadcast Operational Support
- Administration of Media Management Workflows and Standards
- Updating Systems and Support Documentation
Who are we looking for?
To be successful you will have a qualification in a broadcast technology related subject and/or experience in a similar role, including experience using command line (SSH, Telnet, Unix) to manage workstations and servers and experience in management of IP Transport Stream contribution (Multicast, Unicast Networks). You’ll have an understanding and experience of server installation, configuration and maintenance and an excellent understanding of technical broadcast equipment and system workflows, including signal and transmission chains, standards, and terminology.
You’ll have admin level knowledge of macOS, Windows and Linux operating systems and good knowledge of IP networking. Extensive knowledge of non-linear video editing systems including Adobe Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder. Thorough knowledge of baseband video ingests systems and how they integrate within a production and post-production environment and support-level knowledge of broadcast graphics and telestration systems (Lyric, Paint, TOG).
You will have the ability to work under pressure within a live broadcast environment and to resolve problems and faults effectively with minimal impact on productions. You will be able to work unsupervised and unassisted, staffing an area single handed when required and a willingness to work unsociable hours and the ability to support a 24/7 operation.
