Job Description
Duties:
- Accurately record client data on our database and all aspects of your work.
- Contribute to Client Case Conferences as required.
- Deliver 1-2-1 practical & emotional support, advice information and signposting.
- Facilitate support groups and workshops.
- Coaching clients into education, volunteering and paid work.
- Mentoring clients with planning, life skills and budgeting.
- Contacting, supporting and managing client appointments, logging all calls and communications with external agencies.
- Carry out activities which promote the service.
- Perform any other general administration and office tasks as required.
- Carry out duties associated with role that may arise to promote a smooth and efficient running of the service.
- Ensure that safeguarding training is always up to date and in line with current practice.
- Effectively use line management and supervisions ensuring that time is managed to accommodate regular meetings.
- Up to date knowledge of the different projects and services offered at GASPED.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the team and partner organisations.
- Keep up to date with GASPED policies and procedures.
- Maintain Gasped standards, policies and procedures at all times.
- Any cause for concern or conflict with these policies and procedures needs to be highlighted to management and appropriate supervision sought.
- All staff have a duty and responsibility for their own health and safety and that of colleagues, clients and members of the public.
- National Diploma in Counselling.
- Counselling Skills (Level 2/3/4)
- Peer Mentoring or Peer Advice.
- IT Skills.
- Working with hard-to-reach clients.
- Organising own caseload/ appointments.
- Working with clients and delivering support in a 1-1 environment.
- Ability to work at a high pace.
- Working with multiple complex issues.
- Creating support plans with clients with multiple mental health needs.
- Knowledge of a person-centred approach.
- Administrational duties involved with case holding clients and managing multiple clients.
- Development of peer support or groups or co- facilitation of support groups.
- Working with clients on a 1-1 basis supporting them with mental health needs.
- Ability to work at a high pace.
- Working with multiple complex issues.
- Creating support plans with clients with multiple mental health needs.
- A strong understanding of clients with multiple complex needs and best practice in delivering support and a managing casework.
- Data protection requirements and the accurate record keeping of client data.
- Lawful and ethical practice.
- Local and national safeguarding practices, priorities and requirements.
- Working knowledge of other health, social and mental health services, statutory and voluntary within Wakefield.
- Knowledge of person-centred approach to Support.
- Ability to work and communicate well in a team.
- Establish excellent personal and professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including telephone skills.
- General office administration skills and basic IT skills.
- Ability to use own initiative and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure and keep a professional attitude if presented with clients in distress.
- Ability to deal with conflict and follow procedures in place to alert management and take steps to ensure safety of all present.
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and prepared to keep up in a fast-paced working environment.
- Enthusiastic and motivated for the role.
