DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Litigation Corporate Counsel to join our team specializing in Litigation across Cummins globally. The Legal function is based in Indianapolis, IN. This role is hybrid and will work from your home office.

The Litigation Corporate Counsel will be responsible for handling and obtaining results in a variety of complex litigation and risk mitigation matters along with projects across a wide range of businesses, geographic regions and corporate functions while working with a global team.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Acts as trusted advisor to management on legal rights and obligations; has strong grasp of business environment; effectively partners with stakeholders to identify and design needed improvements; provides legal as well as practical business advice; understands and manages stakeholder expectations.
• Manages/supervises large and/or complex cases and matters worldwide.
• Develops legal strategies for all our business units.
• Responsible for project and matter management with limited supervision; exercises independent judgment.
• Provides support and leadership in improvement and issue-resolution projects in both the legal function and within the business units.
• Recognized as a developing expert in litigation.
• Researches, evaluates and advises management and other attorneys on recent or prospective changes in laws and regulations.
• Instructs and supervises outside counsel and consultants as needed.
• Effectively influences and maintains open, collaborative relationships with clients, other business partners and outside stakeholders.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Manages complexity – makes sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
• Communicates effectively – develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Understand business objectives

Education/Experience
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• License to practice in Indiana or other jurisdictions.
• 1^st chair trial experience strongly preferred.
• 6-8 years of experience of substantive litigation practice either in private practice or in-house with a corporation.

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: 121K – 162K

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after taking into account relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
