Temporary Legislative Technical Coordinator
Job Description
- Preparation and distribution of Regional Council agendas including Closed Session materials
- Coordination of technical requirements for Council Chamber technology, maintenance and monitoring of system and contact for Audio Visual support during Council and Committee meetings
- Upkeep and maintenance of distribution lists, email templates, calendars and procedural documents
- Review and update of EIM council records
- Posting and publishing information to Internet and Intranet sites
- Assist with the delivery of training, support and administration of the eScribe application
- Back-up to the Technical Coordinator for Council/Committee meeting operations
- Back-up for Document Execution processing
- May serve as back up Committee Clerk for the Legislative Specialists, as required
- Conduct special projects, as required
What the role requires:
- Completed college diploma or university degree in Public Administration or related discipline
- 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a municipal setting, preferably in a Clerk’s office, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Polished technical skills with experience preparing agendas and minutes
- Proficient with software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, eScribe, WebEx, SharePoint and EIM
Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working with electronic meeting management software preferred
- Experience working with Audio Visual equipment and applications preferred
- Excellent communication skills with ability to provide customer service to various stakeholders including members of Council
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Council Chamber Technology Team and external vendors to identify, address and resolve technical issues

Nice to have:
- Completion or are enrolled in Municipal Administration Program from AMCTO

*Work Mode & Job Location: In this role, you’ll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. This means you’ll have the ability to work remotely and on-site as needed, depending on operational needs at the 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site work may vary from week to week, depending on operational demands, which can evolve over time.
It’s important to note that your remote work location must be within the province of Ontario. This ensures that we’re compliant with all regulations and policies.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week. The Region of Peel offers job based flexible hours of work that allows employees to manage personal and professional responsibilities while at the same time ensures business operational needs and customer service expectations are achieved.
