JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTIONThe Black Knight legal department is establishing a legal operations role, and this will be the first hire for this department. While this is a Legal Operations generalist role, a key part of this role will be managing the legal department’s technology tools. Experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining legal department technology solutions (e.g., contract management/self-service contracting, document management, knowledge management, etc.) is required. This position is work from home eligible. GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Serve as owner of Legal Department’s technology portfolio and 3-year roadmap. Act as lead liaison and escalation point for work with corporate IT team.
- Assist with creating the Black Knight Legal Department’s internal and company-facing portals.
- Create self-help tools (dashboards, intranet sites, on-demand trainings/FAQs, etc.) to support knowledge management throughout the function.
- Document existing policies, procedures and guidelines; develop one-stop shop for online resources and training and formulate education plan around such policies/processes.
- Defines product scope, objectives, and requirements. Defines specifications and data models for product development and testing.
- Assist with collection and assessment of benchmarks/metrics/KPIs.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment and integration with sales, financial, and strategy departments.
- Proactively seek ways to improve current processes to maximize productivity, workflow, and maximize department’s efficiency.
- Project Management Serves as liaison between end-users and the information technology organization consultants during IT and technology consulting projects.
- For systems owned by Legal Operations, also serve as business system owner – manage the vendor selection, implementation, testing, rollout and training for any new software and tools in this space.
- Assist with testing, training, implementation and adoption of technology solutions.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology solutions to resolve business issues.
- Analyzes marketplace, industry, company, technology trends and best practices, vendor products and services, etc. Also, analyzes system impacts to other systems and procedures. Provides recommendations on best practices and changes in technology accordingly.
EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES A Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES - Strong project management skills – consistently completes projects on-time with great attention to detail.
- Strong working knowledge of, and hands-on practical experience with, technology tools and applications typically used in Legal department settings
- A demonstrated understanding of how to develop, implement, and enhance processes. Eager to learn new things and apply knowledge to innovate, improve/simplify processes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively with corporate service teams at all levels (including senior leadership) within a highly matrixed organization.

Technology Business Consultant IV Expert/lead technical role. Expert knowledge of the field. Develops large and/or highly complex solutions that require analysis and research. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or technical leader/consultant. Works on complex tasks, projects or issues that involve a high degree of risk, impacts business unit performance and makes use of the individuals’ high level of knowledge within one or more areas of technology consulting and business analysis. Coaches and mentors more junior technology business consultants. Works without supervision on the most complex projects. Complete latitude for independent judgment. Typically requires a minimum of ten years of demonstrated senior level mortgage and home equity services industry experience and a minimum of five years of Technology Business Consultant or management experience or the equivalent. Requires experience as the technology business consultant lead on multiple “very large” projects (i.e., projects with duration of more than 10,000 hours or spanning more than 6 months).
