38 weeks per annum, paid for 43.13 weeks per annum

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support team at Abingdon & Witney College is expanding, we are therefore looking to appoint professional, energetic and enthusiastic people with excellent communication skills to support our students in a variety of learning environments. Ideally you will have a thorough knowledge of Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs), with a good knowledge of and/or experience of working with young people with, Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), as well as strategies for other SEN supported needs, training will also be provided.
These are varied roles and require dedicated individuals who enjoy working with young people, some of which have complex needs. You will possess the skills to support students studying from Entry Level to Level 3, enabling the students to succeed and achieve their full potential academically. The successful candidates will be responsible for working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals and cross college support staff to ensure that students develop the skills to be able to live and work independently.
The roles involve working with students on a 1:1 basis or shared support with other student, training is provided. We work with amazing young people who have a range of learning and support needs, every day is different, and the support needs will vary. The college has a friendly, supportive culture focused on bringing out the best in every individual.
We are also looking for people who are interested in joining a pool of casual Learning Support Assistants where hours would be on a flexible hourly paid basis, which can fit around and suit your availability.
