Learning Support Assistants – (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Witney 

£18,683 to £19,495 per annum, pro rata  

Various hours and working patterns are available  

38 weeks per annum, paid for 43.13 weeks per annum  

Witney Campus

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support team at Abingdon & Witney College is expanding, we are therefore looking to appoint professional, energetic and enthusiastic people with excellent communication skills to support our students in a variety of learning environments. A thorough knowledge of Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs), with a good knowledge of and/or experience of working with young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC), as well as strategies for other SEN supported needs, training will also be provided.  

These are varied roles and require dedicated individuals who enjoy working with young people, some of which have complex needs.  You will possess the skills to support students studying from Entry Level to Level 3, enabling the students to succeed and achieve their full potential academically.  The successful candidates will be responsible for working closely with teaching staff and SEND professionals and cross college support staff to ensure that students develop their communication skills and are able to make choices in their life, experience of working in a total communications environment would be advantageous.  

The role involves working with students on a 1:1 basis, providing classroom and pastoral support and facilitating workshop activities in-group situations, it may also include working with the students to ensure their physiotherapy requirements are met and support with personal care, training is provided.
