Full-Time Lab Operations Manager

As a Lab Operations Manager you will contribute to multiple therapeutic programs and platform development activities as a lab manager, by supporting the day to day activities necessary to support laboratory operations.
Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Managing general and function specific consumables inventory; including ordering and restocking supplies and determining re-order thresholds
- Managing lab equipment; including service contracts, preventative maintenance, calibration scheduling and regular cleaning of incubators, biosafety cabinets, water baths
- Overseeing lab safety and regulatory compliance, including tracking of chemicals and hazardous materials and enforcing PPE policy and lab safety rules
- Coordinating deliveries inside and out of labs; including liquid nitrogen, CO2 deliveries, and biohazard waste removal, sharps removal, satellite waste removal
- Serving as the facilities point of contact
- Assisting with annual permit and license renewals
- Managing lab safety equipment and supplies; including safety glasses, booties, coats, sticky pads in doorways
- Coordinating shipping and receiving; including unpacking and storing received orders, logging packing slips into the system and resolving backordered/missing supplies
- Ability to manage priorities and function independently in a multidisciplinary laboratory environment
Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, biotechnology or related field
- 3 years of lab operations management experience in industrial research or CMO setting
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- 5 years of experience managing a research lab with protein or viral vector production, purification and testing
- 5 years of experience managing a molecular biology research lab
- Experience with single use bioreactor operations
- Experience with filtration and chromatography operations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
