Full-Time IT Support Services Technician 1
Job Description
The IT Support Services (ITSS) Technician 1 position is responsible for computer hardware and software support to internal GeoEngineers end-users with an emphasis on effective issue resolution and customer satisfaction. Provides excellent customer service while dealing with routine (Tier 1) support problems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Primary point-of-contact for end-user support across a wide variety of computer software, hardware, business systems, mobile devices, and network topologies.
- Ensures assigned end-user requests and problems are resolved or escalated within accepted IT service levels. Includes appropriate documentation of pertinent information in the IT Ticketing system or other knowledge bases.
- Creates and maintains knowledge bases/Wiki articles for internal team and end-user consumption regarding technical issues.
- Provides installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of software, computer settings, program updates, license keys, and other software components necessary to ensure optimal functioning of end-user software.
- Completes tasks related to end-user onboarding and offboarding. Configures and deploys equipment, coordinates with managers/HR, and provides orientation to new employees.
- Performs routine maintenance, upgrades, warranty services, and troubleshooting necessary to keep all end-user hardware functioning optimally.
- Creates and delivers training and documentation to end-users aimed at leveraging existing IT systems and tools to their full extent.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in IT or equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work experience.
- 1 year of experience as an IT support service capacity preferred.
- Previous customer service experience a plus. Ability to provide customer service for a variety of end-users with different levels of computer needs and expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve end-user questions and complete tasks independently.
- Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting, and regular walking, bending, standing, and reaching.
- Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally as needed.
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Tacoma WA, is $23.33– $34.28 per hour. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
