Ball State University’s Department of Landscape Architecture welcomes applications for part-time Instructors of Landscape Architecture.
Responsibilities include teaching a broad range of courses in both professional programs, including studio, lectures, labs, fieldwork and seminars both in teams and individually.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program, or terminal degree in an allied profession by date of employment, or experience that meets the tested experience requirements. Demonstrates capability to teach in design studio; a developed expertise/capacity to teach in at least two of the following support areas of expertise: plant identification, site engineering/construction technologies; design communications (digital and hand-drawn techniques); digital applications, including GIS; research and design methodologies; history and design theory; and design implementation; the ability to engage in the scholarship of the discipline and the profession.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution or related discipline with an established design practice/research agenda; expertise in landscape ecology and advanced implementation technology; exemplary studio teaching experience. Seven recent years of experience in landscape architecture or related practice.
