Human Resources Consultant – Generalist

Reporting to the Director- Human Resources, Strategy and Risk and working collaboratively with a team of human resources functional experts and departmental administrators, this human resources generalist role will provide direct service and HR solutions to our departmental partners in areas such as:
- Job evaluation/classification and salary administration;
- Development and administration of Human Resources Management systems;
- Organizational effectiveness including training and development, orientation and onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, diversity, inclusion and belonging, strategic initiatives;
- Recruitment and succession planning;
- Labour relations including collective agreement interpretation, issues management, attendance management;
- Policy and/or process review and revision as required to mitigate human resource challenges;
- Committee participation.
For consideration as a potential candidate, the individual should possess the following qualifications:
- University Degree in Commerce or Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources;
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in human resources services and programs in a unionized environment;
- Ability to analyze, problem solve and make sound decisions and recommendations;
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with management, staff and union representatives;
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Proficient computer skills with business software and Human Resources management applications including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
- A CPHR or CHRL designation and a Master’s degree in Business or Employment Relations will be considered assets.

Salary: HL 19 – $62,228 – $80,896 annually
