Job Title: HR Generalist
We are seeking a HR Generalist based in our Grand Forks, BC location to join the Human Resources team.
Annual Base Pay Range: $60,000 – $80,000

What you will be doing:
Provides human resources services to all salaried and hourly employees at the manufacturing facility in Grand Forks, BC. This position will report to the HR Manager of the facility.
Labor Relations
- Participate in/document all meetings between management and the union
- Attend all Grievance meetings presenting accurate, up-to-date records and employee’s work history and performance
- Participate in investigations and provide support to management in union matters
Policies & Procedures
- In conjunction with HR team, update and monitor compliance with policies and procedures for all employees at the Grand Forks manufacturing facility
- Coach and train factory management team and supervisors to implement changes made through new policies and procedures
- Maintain and manage factory attendance program
Benefits, Leaves of Absences & Payroll Administration
- Liaise with internal HR Helpline to administer benefits and retirement plan enrollment and changes, requests for employment verifications, leaves of absence, and payroll issues
Recruitment
- Ensure that job requisitions for open positions are entered into Workday promptly and accurately and manage postings per the CBA
- Liaise with Talent Acquisition Partner to source and identify candidates for direct factory employment
- Investigate sources for direct recruitment and participate in career fairs
- Develop, update and facilitate new employee orientation for all hires
Employee Development and Retention
- Assist in the delivery of internal training programs as required
Legislative Compliance
- Remain current with all relevant employment legislation
- Keep HR team apprised of changes to all relevant employment legislation
General
- Coordinate annual attendance / safety / service awards
- Drive Performance Management and/or evaluations for direct employees through the Supervisors
What you bring:
- Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or related field
- 2-3 years of HR Generalist experience with experience in a union manufacturing environment is an asset
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- HR designation preferred
- Works with customers/clients to identify needs and propose solutions
- Keeps information in strict confidence and is professional at all times
