Homeless Accommodation Officer

Location: Hybrid Working between various schemes within Gloucestershire

Salary: £29,251per annum

Contract type: Permanent, 37 hours per week

About you and the role

  • To be responsible for the day to day management of our homeless properties; delivering positive outcomes for our customers through a professional and supportive service. As part of the Homeless Service Team, you’ll implement initiatives to develop our future homeless accommodation provision and our community based care and support approaches.
  • To be responsible for own caseload and safeguarding referrals, working with colleagues to ensure GCH homeless properties are safe and well-maintained places to live.
  • To conduct inspections of homeless accommodation and take ownership of raising and checking the completion of activities related to the property, communal repairs, and neighbourhood cleanliness / condition.
  • To be approachable and accessible to customers, communicating openly and ensuing they are kept updated as appropriate.
  • To provide support with the management of key issues, such as fire safety compliance,
  • To work with customers and their representatives supporting sustainable homeless accommodation by identifying support needs and vulnerability and ensuring effective sign posting to colleagues and external support agencies.
  • To be proactive in maximising income and collections of rent and service charges due.
  • You will need to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle
