Summary/Position Objectives:

The Director of Health Equity and DEI Strategy will be accountable for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies and initiatives addressing health disparities among our MPC members while collaborating to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within our organization. This role requires demonstrated experience with DEI principles, community health services, working with under-resourced areas and communities of disinvestment, implementing health equity approaches and models, a deep understanding of health policy, and the unique challenges faced by diverse populations. The Director will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance health equity and DEI goals, ensuring that our services are accessible, culturally appropriate, and effective for all members.

What You’ll Do:

Health Equity Strategy Development and Implementation:

· Develop and execute a comprehensive health equity strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.

· Identify key health disparities among Medicaid members and create targeted interventions to address these gaps.

· Integrate health equity principles into all organizational policies, programs, and practices.

Program Management:

· Design, implement, and evaluate programs to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes for diverse populations.

· Ensure programs are evidence-based and culturally sensitive.

· Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to health equity and DEI initiatives.

Collaboration and Advocacy:

· Work closely with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships and promote health equity and DEI.

· Advocate for policies and practices that sustain health equity and DEI at local and state levels.

· Represent the company at relevant conferences, meetings, and forums.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

· Establish metrics and benchmarks to monitor the effectiveness of health equity.

· Regularly report on progress and outcomes to senior leadership and other stakeholders.

· Identify and disseminate best practices and lessons learned.

Internal DEI Strategy and Initiatives:

· Partner with the Senior Director of Human Resources to further develop DEI strategy that promotes a diverse and inclusive workplace culture.

· Partner with Risk Manager/CCO to ensure supplier/vendor diversity.

· Provide guidance and support to management and staff on DEI best practices and policies.

Education and Training:

· In partnership with internal leaders develop and deliver training programs for staff, providers, and partners on health equity, cultural competence, DEI, and social determinants of health.

· Provide technical assistance and support to internal teams on integrating health equity and DEI into their work.

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills:

· Extensive experience with Microsoft Office.

· Highly self-motivated and directed.

· Proven leadership and creative problem-solving ability.

· Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

· Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Education and Work Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in public health, Health Administration, Social Work, or a related field.

· 5+ years of experience in public health or healthcare administration (or related field) with a focus on health equity, diversity, and inclusion.

· Experience with community health services, working with under-resourced areas and communities of disinvestment, and implementing health equity approaches and models for large organizations.
