Full-Time Health and Safety Advisor

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team.  Supporting the Health & Safety Senior Manager in the continual improvement of the Club’s Health and Safety management, ensuring high standards of Health & Safety through the implementation of policies and procedures in accordance with current legislation and best practice.

What will you be doing?

• Support H&S Manager in the continual improvement of the Clubs Health & Safety Management Systems, including ISO 45001, and other current standards and legislation

• Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety within their areas of responsibility

• Deliver formal and informal training and development in H&S compliance related areas.

• Undertake audits where appropriate and ensure an action plan with SMART objectives is established to address issues identified

• Act as point of contact across the club for Health & Safety related queries and provide specialist knowledge in working collaboratively to identify risk managed solutions.

• Carry out workplace incident investigations and compile reports / evidence to prevent reoccurrence and to support the resolution of potential litigation against the Club.

• Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Health, Safety and wellbeing within their areas of responsibility.

• Establish a full programme of documented Health & Safety inspections, audits, and checks and be responsible for actively assessing, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of ISO 45001 compliant management systems. Leading on the identification and implementation of improvement measures where required

• Support with the administration of all processes and protocols to ensure an auditable trail can be sourced for the purpose of external audits which meet recognised industry standards.

Who we are looking for

Successful candidates must have achieved a NEBOSH General Certificate or similar Level 3 qualification and have an in-depth knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and how it is applied in the workplace.  You will have previous experience in a health and safety role where you have undertaken incident investigations and demonstrated a commitment to the continuous improvement of a positive Safety culture.

Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy, and strong analytical and organisational skills are key to success in this role, along with excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week on a 5 out of 7 days basis and requires the ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business across different LFC sites. This will include occasional working on match days and events involving unsociable hours.
