The Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), an international nonprofit countering online hate and disinformation that results in real-world harm, is looking for our new leader of Public Affairs in Europe, managing our teams in London and Brussels, and acting as our key liaison with multilateral organisations. Join an international team dedicated to driving regulatory action throughout the world on social media platform accountability, online harms, and our information ecosystem. This is your chance to inform and influence an international conversation that is at the heart of contemporary debate on how to protect democracy, tolerance, science and truth.

The Role

Our Head of Public Affairs – Europe & Multilaterals will fulfil three key organizational needs. The first is to oversee and ensure our UK and EU public affairs teams are operating well, learning from each other, and reaching high performance standards. Your experience will help grow the effectiveness of those teams in driving change in Westminster and Brussels. The second role is to liaise with multilateral organizations and convenings to ensure CCDH is present, credible, influential, and is effectively using those forums to drive national action by individual countries and to inform the international debate on social media company accountability. The third is to inform and educate both within CCDH and externally on policy interventions being developed and implemented internationally.

CCDH has already proven that it can drive legislative action in the United Kingdom and the European Union. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about our mission and want to be part of a team driving change in social issues globally.

The role reports to the CEO and will benefit from working with an international team of expert researchers constantly producing high-impact, relevant evidence to drive policy, together with policy thought leaders and innovative communicators. CCDH is based in Washington, DC with staff in London, Brussels, and Los Angeles.
