Full-Time General Ledger and Fixed Assets Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced General Ledger and Fixed Assets Lead to join our Shared Service Centre who will oversee a relatively new and ambitious[DEL: :DEL] team. With three direct reports and a wider team of eight you will ultimately be responsible for closing the Fixed Asset Sub ledger and General Ledger for the UK and Europe and the USD consolidation to our US based Corporate group.

 

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

* Oversee a team who perform highly specialised accounting work required to maintain the region’s General Ledger and Fixed Assets processes.

* Ensure delivery of global and regional metrics by ensuring the reporting for all Cummins[DEL: :DEL] entities is completed on time.

* Ensure accuracy of reporting in multiple currencies and the conversion techniques to USD

* Lead the month end close process, and accounting consolidation in USD

* Define and implement Month End & Maintenance projects with a focus on quality, time and efficiency. Analyse current procedures and recommends changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures.

* Review, investigate and resolve issues relating to maintenance queries.

* Promote common accounting by maintaining global setups and reporting with high quality.

* Ensure SOx documentation is maintained in accordance with current processes and controls.

* Coach and develop the team; providing guidance and direction on problems and issues. Identify opportunities to develop skills and provide a clear career development path.

* Responds to  enquiries received from senior leadership internal and external auditors regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc. Review existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary.

To be a success in this role you will need;

* Fully qualified in either CIMA or ACCA is essential.

* Substantial experience in General Ledger [DEL: and Fixed Assets :DEL] is essential.

* Demonstrable experience in a demanding and fast paced finance environment is essential.

* Previous experience managing a team is essential.

•            Salary between £ 40,000 and £45,500 depending on experience.
