At our Oevel site in Belgium, Cummins is developing innovative electrolyzer technologies that can generate hydrogen for various applications with zero emissions – contributing to a safe and healthy environment for future generations.
We have a new product development pipeline that includes medium and large-scale platforms for our PEM (HyLYZER) technologies, and we are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Specialist to oversee the full product life cycle on various projects.
This position can be based in the Belgium, Germany or Spain.
Your impact will include the following;
* Coordinate the functional safety life cycle for our new product developments, including performing mandatory Function Safety Assessments and HAZOP/ LOPA studies throughout the development process.
* Perform SIL calculations and create relevant reports that can be understood by a wide audience at various levels.
* Develop verification and validation test plans to for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
* Create maintenance requirements for SIS and Basic Process Control Systems (BPCS)
* Coordinate third party product type certification in accordance with IEC 61511. Ensure that all IEC compliance documentation is collated and recorded.
* Develop Reliability-Availability-Maintainability (RAM) models, perform analysis and create reports.
To be a success in your role you will need;
* Experience in a Functional Safety role with knowledge of the full Functional Safety life cycle is essential.
* University, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required
* Deep knowledge and practical experience with IEC 61511 requirements, with Functional Safety certification accredited by a third party.
* Willingness to travel up to 25%
