Temporary FREELANCE: PROJECT COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Job Description

Creative UK is the independent network for the UK Creative Industries. We connect, invest in and support great ideas, champion brilliance and fight for the opportunity for all to thrive creatively.

We are working with high level partners and a professional marketing agency in preparation to launch a flagship behaviour change communications campaign running from mid-October to mid-December 2025. This campaign will complement the newly expanded Discover! Creative Careers Month, which takes place throughout November.

The Project Communications Coordinator will be the lead project support person for the development and delivery of industry engagement in this vital communications campaign.

 

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented comms professional with proven experience in stakeholder outreach and campaign communications within the creative industries.

 

You will have experience in developing communication assets, managing engagement workflows, and coordinating cross-sector cooperation. These services require skills in using Hubspot to streamline outreach and reporting, and experience in coordinating high-level meetings and steering groups.

 

The ideal candidate will be proactive, autonomous with a track record in driving impactful campaign engagement and measurable outcomes.

 

LOCATION: UK Remote (ideally Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region and/or North East of England given required outreach)  

CONTRACT: Freelance, 2-3 days per week mid-July 2025 to mid-October 2025.

DAY FEE: fixed £150 inclusive of any applicable VAT

SERVICES: 

  • Rapid outreach to regional priority sector creative industry organisations, access organisations, and educators to identify campaign participants.
  • Development of communication outreach assets and comms workflow management.
  • Attend key meetings including the project task and finish group, partner briefings, Discover Steering Group and sessions with the marketing agency leading the campaign. Providing follow up dissemination of insights and feedback.
  • Lead the dissemination and drive rapid response uptake from project pulse surveys.
  • Work with the task and finish group, industry contacts, and project leads to compile a target list for campaign engagement.
  • Develop a partners’ pack detailing requirements for campaign engagement for potential industry contributors.
  • Follow up with selected contacts, manage project engagement communications, and establish campaign asset capture arrangements with the marketing agency and participating contributors.
  • Prepare a communication partners’ pack with the finalised campaign assets and share across our communications contacts and networks.
  • Plan and schedule campaign-related content across social media, newsletters, and other communications platforms.
  • Monitor and report on campaign reach, engagement metrics, and stakeholder feedback.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of the creative industry subsectors included in the campaign. This includes key regional employers, access organisations, and educators.
  • Ability to undertake rapid outreach across the key industries and sectors that the campaign will target.
  • Ability to draft compelling and attractive communications assets
  • Ability to manage communications processes and workflows using Hubspot.
  • Ability to work autonomously to tight deadlines and targets.
  • Located in the NE or NW of England (desirable)

 

  1. As a freelancer you will be expected to use your own tech hardware. You will be provided with a mailbox and access to required data.

 

PROJECT INFORMATION

Creative UK is working as the industry outreach partner for a major behaviour change campaign pilot, that will be delivered by a professional marketing agency, to ensure that the campaign is industry led, industry supported, regionally relevant, and represents the diversity of the communities across which the campaign will be delivered. The campaign’s primary objective is to diversify the UK’s creative workforce by:

  • Inspiring young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore careers in the creative industries.
  • Showcasing accessible pathways into creative roles.
  • Driving engagement with the Discover! Creative Careers Programme (CCP) and its national month of events.

As part of a pilot initiative for FY25/26, the campaign will focus on three priority regions: Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region and North East of England.

The wider Creative Careers Programme, delivered by ScreenSkills in partnership with Creative UK, targets young people aged 11–18 across more than 100 regions in the UK. It showcases career opportunities across over 13 creative industry subsectors, aiming to broaden awareness and access to creative professions. This targeted regional campaign will spotlight four key subsectors: Film and Television, Music, Visual and Performing Arts, Advertising and Marketing, and Video Games

Creative UK’s Key Areas of Campaign Activity

  • Co-developing campaign messaging and visual identity in collaboration with industry
  • Engaging industry stakeholders with campaign plans and timelines to secure buy-in
  • Executive level engagement of key sector bodies and organisations across the four priority subsectors.
  • Collaborating with industry to refine, validate, and approve campaign plans.
  • Identifying and engaging campaign participants from different subsectors, regions, and demographics.
