Full-Time Facilities Program Manager (Professional Engineer/Registered Architect)
Job Description
The Program Manager is responsible for supervising the overall operation of a program, including multiple projects for one client, and implementing a clear line of communication between sales and technical operations. In addition, the Program Manager serves as a consultative resource for all existing and potential clients and may participate in presentations or trade shows as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.
Core functions:
- Responsible for proposal development of client and project specific scopes of work.
- Directly interfaces with sales staff to assure clients’ expectations and needs are being met and with the project managers, ensuring conformance of the program standards and procedures.
- Partners in the research and development of new service offerings.
- Responsible for managing Public and Private Sector projects within budget and on-time, while providing high client satisfaction.
- Manages financial and execution risk of projects.
- Tracks projects due to client on a daily basis as well as flow of work shipping.
- Serves as the main point-of-contact with client during the execution of projects and programs.
- Prepares project progress reports and routinely communicates with clients on the status of projects.
- Communicates with clients to discuss and develop solutions to recognized architectural and engineering concerns.
- Performs technical review of deliverables for technical accuracy, client expectations, compliance of scope and consistency.
- Supervises and directs assigned staff. Determines work assignments, priorities and schedules.
- Reviews and evaluates work progress, identifies problems and provides technical direction and guidance to assigned staff.
- Maintains open communication with management and staff regarding operational matters.
- Possesses the ability to meet job requirements and perform duties of Senior Consultant/Project Managers, as needed.

· Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions to clients needs.
· Demonstrate BV’s guiding principles in support of the company’s strategic goals.
· Follow all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of BV’s quality standards and strategic initiatives.
· Maintain safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
· May be required to work overtime.
· Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
· Possess the ability to use and skillfully operate a computer is essential to this position.
· Possess the ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position.
· Successfully work from remote location.
· Climb ladders (including vertical ladders up multiple stories) and/or steep attached stairs to a roof (for each building assessed, at least once per on-site assessment)
· Have the ability to travel, on average, approximately 25% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on the project location. Overnight stays away from home may be required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role of Program Manager directs project managers on the specific programs by ensuring clear up front scopes are understood, visits and projects occur on time, issues are resolved, and technical decisions are made. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
o Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and/or Engineering or related field is preferred.
o Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a background in Operations and Maintenance leadership in large scale institutional, retail, commercial, or government sectors.
o 4+ years of experience conducting building assessments/Facility Condition Assessments (FCA), Property Condition Assessments (PCA) and writing technical reports for K-12, Higher Education and/or Government facilities.
o 5+ years of experience performing architectural/engineering assessments.
o 10+ years of experience in project and staff management.
o Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Private/public sector, government and/or institutional clients,
o Able to demonstrate an understanding of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
o Bonus for this role, not Required. Registered Architect, Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, BPI Building Analyst, HERS II Rater, HERS Building Performance Contractor, Multifamily GreenPoint Rater, and/or Certified Energy Engineering Professional preferred.
o Valid driver’s license is required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record).
Other Qualifications:
o Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.
o Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service.
o Must be able to work from a remote location.
o Must be willing to fly and live near (or be willing to relocate to) a major metropolitan area with reasonable access to a major airport.
o Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS Excel.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
o You can traverse, observe equipment, and record data and photos on safely accessible roofs and other high or open areas, which may require ladder and/or hatch access.
o You are comfortable and willing to work in densely equipped mechanical and electrical spaces requiring dedicated focus on safety protocol.
o Ability to travel, on average, approximately 25%time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and driving as determined based on the project location.
