CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Exempt; benefits eligible after 90 days
WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with occasional weekends and evenings
SALARY: $58,000 – $62,000; DOE
POSITION SUMMARY
The Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual for the position of Facilities Manager. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a unique combination of prior facilities experience with an understanding of public assembly, security, theater or performance industry, and a keen ability to multi-task, with administrative and technical savvy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily facilities operations and oversee full and part-time custodial staff.
- Coordinate all facilities calendars and activities with other Berkeley Rep departments.
- Manage electronic access entry systems, including issuing keys and alarm codes.
- Coordinate HVAC schedules for theaters and offices.
- Monitor security systems including fire alarms, intruder alarms, and surveillance camera system.
- Coordinate the continued maintenance of company vehicles, including insurance and registration.
- Collaborate with IT to manage the VOIP phone system.
- Organize weekly billing for the department and order janitorial supplies.
- Manage mail services, copier, and postal machine leases and supplies.
- Update emergency procedures manual, CPR, and First Aid training for staff.
- Assist the Facilities Director with Illness and Injury Prevention Program, Hazardous Materials Business Plan, and Safety Data Sheets.
- Manage the recycling, trash, and E-Waste services and programs.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Three or more years of experience supervising staff in janitorial, maintenance, or facilities preferred.
- Three years of experience in business invoicing and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Suite.
- Must be computer & technology savvy with the capacity and drive to learn new systems and technology quickly.
- Must have the ability to multi-task and re-prioritize responsibilities quickly, meet deadlines, and stay calm under pressure.
- People person with excellent administrative and communication skills.
- Self-starter comfortable working under minimal supervision and with a team.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
