The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Facilities Director to join our team.

In this role, the Facilities Director is responsible for the overall condition, cleanliness, and mechanical operation of the building, including the working order of its utilities and machines as well as the security of the building. You will be expected to provide leadership and oversight to building maintenance staff as well as oversight and direction to contractors utilized for outsourced projects. If hired for this position, you will support in the development and management of a strong annual maintenance budget and improvement plans of properties, facilities, and any necessary preventative maintenance related plans and budgets.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance.
  • Use the Preventive Maintenance program as a tool for predictive and ongoing maintenance.
  • Maintain, review, and update the custodial cleaning standards and schedules to insure optimum facility cleanliness and minimize equipment maintenance and repair costs.
  • Monitor and control an adequate inventory of parts and supplies relating to the appropriate cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and the facility.
  • Ensure the proper operation of all mechanical systems. Ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent.
  • 5 years’ experience in the management of facilities and sites, energy management, operation of a computer based preventive maintenance program preferred, maintenance of building standards, and asset control management.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
  • Knowledge and working understanding of pool pump and filtration systems, domestic water, and waste water systems preferred. Possess Pool and Spa Operator Certification or be capable of passing certification examination.
  • Knowledge and working understanding of computer based Direct Digital Control (DDC) HVAC systems, low and medium voltage electrical systems.
  • Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with diverse populations
  • YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, and Oxygen certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Compensation: 65,478 to 68,000 a year depending on experience

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
