We are making it simple for app developers to ship and scale their mission critical apps, services, and data across our global points of presence.

We are offering the opportunity to work in a modern work environment, to use cutting-edge technologies and modern processes while making a meaningful impact every single day. Kessel Run is revolutionizing how the Air Force builds and delivers software and it is driving change in how the Department of Defense (DoD) does business. • Own and set the engineering strategy and delivery of the United States Air Force’s global application platform for distributed command and control
  • Lead a team of engineering managers and provide engineering leadership within a large engineering organization
  • Set performance goals for team members while providing coaching and professional development
  • Drive a high-performance culture within your team the moves quickly and learns continuously
  • Collaborate with a balanced team of product and design directors; representing the engineering perspective to the product roadmap

Who You Are

  • Track record of leading teams to execute more effectively and deliver products on time
  • Ability to inspire and motivate all stakeholders to work together as a highly effective team
  • Outstanding influencing and communication skills, particularly with product owners and cross-organization collaborators.
  • You have demonstrated experience quickly ramping up in a new and highly complex product domain like military command and control (or prior experience in this domain)
  • You are a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (see eligibility requirements here)

This is a Federal civilian service position within the United States Air Force. We are hiring at the equivalent of a GS-14 up to GS-15 level for this position. This means you can expect a base salary of $93,907 to $143,598 multiplied by your locality rate, based on your experience. You can find your locality definition here and see the pay tables for the GS scale here. Our headquarters is located in Boston, MA; for a Boston-based employee, this would translate to a range from $121,243 to $172,500

We also provide paid time off, health, and retirement benefits. There are advancement opportunities to promote to more senior levels after hiring.

We understand that there is no such thing as the ideal candidate for any job and we believe in empowering people to learn and grow throughout their careers.
