Job Description
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for a talented Electronic Control Systems Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engine Business Unit in Columbus, IN / your remote home office – this is a hybrid role.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Investigates electronic application and systems problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results.
• Provide software/calibration support for Off-Highway applications including Excavators, Frontend Loaders, Air Compressors, Power Generation Units, Marine vessels, Cranes, Agricultural equipment, Forestry equipment.
• Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
• Systems Thinking – Defines the system of interest by drawing the boundaries, identifying its context within its environment, its interfaces, and that it has a lifecycle to aid in planning the problem statement, scope and deliverables
• Communicates effectively – Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Manages complexity – Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
• Perform FMEA or IDFMEA; run software test cases.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• 6+ years of relevant work experience or a Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience.
