Full-Time DS&C Electronic Controls – Technical Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a talented DS&C Electronic Controls- Technical Specialist to join our team specializing in Engineering in Columbus, IN.

 

The Controls Performance Features team within Dynamic Systems & Controls –Engine Integration is chartered with delivering tuning for the Air-Handling Control, Virtual Sensor, and associated OBD Diagnostic for Automotive and Off-Highway VPI programs in the US as well as provide Functional Excellence and tuning support for International program teams.

 

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

* This role will be responsible to participate in Misfire Diagnostic 8 step and 3 step work for current VPI and CPS programs.

* Responsibilities will include: collecting data, calibrating Misfire diagnostics, validating the calibration, documenting the results, supporting certification process

* Presenting in technical Deep Dive forums to communicate feature & diagnostic performance to cross-functional SPI teams. Development and presentation of Design Review material to program team in support of calibration releases. Documentation of results against Tech Profile requirements.

* Support VPI programs by investigating/troubleshooting issues in test cell, truck, and field test units following the 7-step process.  Provide technical support to the programs on hardware & software improvements based on needed capability.

* Support continual refinement/improvement of tuning and validation processes.

* Provide coaching/guidance on CPF-related topics to internal and cross-functional teams.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

* College, university, or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

* 5-7+ years of Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.

* Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
